moe v the baby

While I was at work today we had a break through in Moe v the Baby. Moe has slowly been tolerating Jake a little more and becoming more interested in what he is doing.He will often lay at the edge of the blanket we put on the floor and watch Jake as he plays. Then he would let Jake crawl to him but would get up before Jake could swat him. Today Jake crawled up to Moe and actually crawled ONTO Moe. Kurt said Moey stayed there for 5 min and let Jake harass him. We have the pics to prove it!









As promised we also got the video if Jake and his dragon book. It is almost 3min long, but super cute and worth watching! except that it is not uploading on the blog so go to

teeth and more

Our little boy is growing up so fast, he is starting to get his bottom teeth and he is really a trooper about it. He has been a little cranky but not bad at all. I have also heard about changes in sleep habits but it has not disrupted him at all. He is now able to sit up from his belly on his own. He is pulling himself up on things and will hold onto the table and stand without any support. He LOVES when his Daddy comes home from work in the morning and gives him a huge smile and kicks his legs. When I pick him up from the sitter he gives me the same HUGE smile and army crawls to me. He loves his dragon book and touches all the different textures on the page and SERIOUSLY turns the pages. (i am going to try to video tape it) He does something new every day and it is so fun to watch!

Just plain cute

I have not been a good blogger lately. My BF Katie is a great blogger. It always seems like they have something going on and she makes it so interesting. We have not been doing much in the past couple weeks. We were supposed to go up northern VA couple weekends ago but they had a major snow storm and we definitely would have been stuck! we got a little snow down in VB but it caused major havoc. I think we had a total of 3 snow plows. the Freeways were icy for days. We got a couple pics of Jake but I dont think he likes the snow. I dont blame him.





Jake started some swim classes 2 weeks ago. he was a little reserved at first but about 1/2 way through he loved it. Now the minute we get in he starts splashing, kicking and squealing. He is the youngest in his class but way more active in the water than the other kids. My parents joined us for a lesson the other day. It is really awesome watching your child learn new things and have fun doing it.













Since we started swimming he has really taken to bath time and love that now also! He splashes the water, plays with toys and tries to get the water from the faucet.









Happy Valentines day and Happy birthday to Kurt. Since my parents were here I decided to cook a nice filet mignon. I got a recipe off food network. I was pretty nervous (kurt usually cooks steak) but with a lot of help from MOm e pulled it off. We had roasted potatoes and asparagus, corn bread and some awesome steak. I think it was better than most steaks I have had at a restaurant! Kurt did awesome for valentines day, he bought me diamond earrings! what a good husband.

green foods

Jake loved all the orange foods but hasnt taken to the green foods so far. I can trick him into eating the peas by mixing them with cereal but he is not enthusiastic about it. He moves it around in his mouth, then pushes it out or if it goes down his throat he gags on it.













We also bought him this super cute hat. We have been out running the past couple days and the sun has been shining down on his face. he has one hat, but it is too big and kept falling down onto his eyes.

Jake had his 6mo appointment the other day. The doctor said he was perfect.
18 lbs
25 1/2 in

He is a little short for his age, but his belly makes up for it and the doctor said he was right along the curve. I am not surprised though, we have been waiting for a growth spurt for about a month now. His belly just seems to be getting bigger-- ha! I think there is supposed to be big growth spurt at 6 mo so we will keep waiting and feeding him. He has conquered the "orange" foods. he loves sweet potatoes, carrots and butternut squash. Next come the peas, green beans and broccoli! I have a feeling this kid will eat just about anything we give him!

On another note, I have now, as of today,officially started my training for triathlons again. Jake and I went out for the first time in the Jeep stroller (thanks Laura and Tess!). We have a lot of training to do but I am excited and ready to take on this challenge!

Jake LOVES his bouncy seat. He sits in it for 45 min to an hour at a time just bouncing and talking. Its kinda nice, we can actually get things done, but most of the time I just watch him because it is funny. He bounces so much he is actually getting blisters on his toes!
