That was AMAZING

As you all know by now, Jake loves planes. He has a cool little collection of toy WW1 and WWII planes. We love to go to the Airplane museums and learn about all the different types of planes. PopPop heard on the new that the "Memphis Belle" B17 Bomber was going to be in Chesapeake this past weekend and we HAD to go. They actually give flights in it but we decided not to do that when we found out the flight is $450/person. But you get to walk through the plane which we cant do at out museum.

So in anticipation of going to see the plane we let Jake watch (filtered by us) the move Memphis Belle. He loves the movie now and was so thrilled to see the plane

When we pulled in top the airport the plane was flying and Jake exclaimed" That is Amazing!. I never knew we would see a real B17 bomber flying, right Mom? This is going to be amazing, isnt this Amazing?"

Well it was amazing! we went through the plane 3x!!! We saw the " front gunner, pilot, top gunner, side gunners, bullets, ball turret, tail gunner...right Mom?" We walked through the Bomb bay with "real bombs...right Mom?"

He thoroughly impressed the pilots with his questions about flying and " How did you shoot down the Meshersmints" (the Messerschmitt 109 is the German fighter plane)

He did not stop talking for the rest of the day and when we got home had to watch the movie again!

Jake and the Pilots

End of summer days

Back to school time! Jake starts pre-K this year. he is very excited to go back to school and see his friends again. Luckily his best little friend Wesley is in his class. all the other kids from last year are in the other class.
After the first 2 days of school I was told that he serenaded the class with Born in the USA. I was also told he is very kind and helpful. And... he told his teacher that he is not allowed to sit against the wall in the bathroom line because last year he played with the string and " I dont trust myself not to play with it again".

We went to the Botanical Gardens. they have a couple days a week that you can ride bikes through the paths. They also have a great kids area. So much fun!
